Measuring the Universe

An empty space is your canvas.

This is how Roman Ondak converted a white wall to what he calls it “Measuring the Universe”. This wall is located at Gallery 5, Tate St Ives Museum [www.tate.org.uk] where the public can measure their own height and write their names on the wall. So far, there were 90,000 contributors to the wall, making this white space a living work of art. Through this simple action, the idea of space is once again made up with a work of art created from nothing. I must say, a genius at work.

Space = Universe
