Helm by agency Creative Juice [www.creativejuicesil.com], Nando’s has been catching attention nationwide thanks to its cheeky, quirky and funny ads. Best of all, it relates to current news. Cheeky Billboards
These billboards are found proximity to red light zones in KL. ‘Ayam’ is Malay. ‘Kai’ is Cantonese. ‘Kai’ also means ‘hookers/prostitutes’ in Cantonese. Get the meaning?

nandos16
Jalan-jalan Cari Makan is a popular local TV show that showcases great food around Malaysia. It is translated to as “Walking around finding chickens”.

nandos15
Same billboard but an older visual. Literally translated to “Many chickens here”. Read the subhead? Now you know what they are talking about.

Stop Childhood Obesity

Fantastic ‘brand attack’ piece of work.

There is no better way to express the concern about child obesity than to attack the brand directly. Creative Vein [www.creative-vein.co.uk], a Manchester-based Design Agency came up with some interesting visuals that depict child obesity begins from the food that you eat. Yes, they are Haribo, Pringles & KFC. Simply by expanding their logos to be obese-looking people tells enough to the little ones. Parents on the other hand too can use these ads and say, “Do you wanna be like this?”. Well, pity the brand after all their hard work of making money (and kids fat), they will now have to re-direct their branding.

Come on, you know it’s bound to happen.

Sharpen Your Pencil

The act of writing with a pencil implies that it will have to be sharpened.

Creative Agency Cossette [www.cossette.com] together with Amnesty International [www.amnesty.org] created an advertising campaign to raise awareness on injustice and violence in the world. In a world where violence and injustice are growing constantly, it is only we that can protect their rights and humanity. The powerful and rich always seem to get thinks their way, but with us – the public – there is hope.

“If a scene that portrays injustice is printed onto a pencil, it will inevitably be eroded as the pencil is gradually sharpened. The more you write about injustice, the more it disappears.”

How will you spend your last 10 years?

The average Canadian will spend their last ten years in sickness. Change your future now.

heart-and-stroke-foundationA community service ad by the Heart & Stroke Foundation [www.heartandstroke.com] in Canada shows a series of 3 ads simply by using two colors, now and the future. This campaign – Make Health Last [https://makehealthlast.ca] – calls for Canadians to look into their health in order to live longer. As many of us tend to neglect our health, statistics show that most Canadians will live their last 10 years with sickness.

Love the concept of the ads as it shows our healthy, younger days blended with the future that we might face. Best of it, the usage of just two colors. Love it!

MAX Shoes | Stunning Collection

There is no better photo to depict STUNNING than these creative ads by Jung von Matt/Limmat from Switzerland [www.jvm.ch/en]. And it awesomely shows the products.

Mercedes-Benz | Left Brain, Right Brain

An absolute out-of-the-box design concept by the peeps from Shalmor Avnon Amichay/Y&R Interactive [www.yr.co.il] from Tel Aviv, Israel. Totally dispatches Mercedes-Benz from the norm of displaying their best automotive model, and to tell the story of how their cars are made, designed and marketed.

The copy reads:

Left Brain
I am the left brain. I am a scientist. A mathematician. I love the familiar. I categorize. I am accurate. Linear. Analytical. Strategic. I am practical. Always in control. A master of words and language. Realistic. I calculate equations and play with numbers. I am order. I am logic. I know exactly who I am.

Right Brain
I am the right brain. I am creativity. A free spirit. I am passion. Yearning. Sensuality. I am the sound of roaring laughter. I am taste. The feeling of sand beneath bare feet. I am movement. Vivid colors. I am the urge to paint on an empty canvas. I am boundless imagination. Art. Poetry. I sense. I feel. I am everything I wanted to be.

The copy is strong. Extremely. It tells a story. A story that makes you feel safe and secure. It speaks to the heart. Captivates you. Buy a Mercedes-Benz. They know who they are and who you are.

Apple VS Wonderbra

What does these two industry giants have in common? I created this parody advertisements for fun, as I did realise that both have one thing in common. Ad shows a couple of people waiting in a queue. Notice the gap between one another. Can you figure out the similarities?

Check it out!

BIG!

[TVC] Mac Genius

These are Apple’s TVC ads created for the 2012 Olympics in London and as usual, boasts about anything and everything about them. Creative? I agree. Looks like an improvise version of their Mac series they had it going for quite sometime.

This time around, they aren’t as direct as they used to be where they would attack Windows openly. A little more subtle manner and more focused on their applications and such. Worth the look. Certainly caught my attention.

The point here being that their computers are FAST!

Mayday

Labor Day

Basically

Out of the three, my favorite would be Mayday. What’s yours?

Durex ‘Cheaper’ Ads

If there is a minimalist ad that speaks the loudest, it would be Durex’s ‘Cheaper’ ads. Literally scares the living hell out of people, these ads will make you put on protection everytime! As simple as it looks, it does tell you that it is that simple to put one on. The minimalist part of the ad certainly ensures that you are focused on the object that will cost you (almost) a bomb, compared to a pack of Durex of course.

The Complete ‘Mac v PC’ Ads (Part 1)

One of my many favorite Ad Campaign ever launched is Apple’s ‘Get a Mac’ series of commercials. The ads feature John Hodgman and Justin Long as ‘PC’ and ‘Mac’ respectively, ranting about life and its mysteries. Enjoy the ads right here. Makes you fall head over heels with Mac again.

Part 1 (19 ads) began in 2006.
